Chris Banke Loves What He Does

Chris Banke loves being a dog trainer. He began training as a teenager with a doberman named “Dana” as his first pupil. After that experience, his love for training grew and at the age of 15, he found the Algemeiner Schutzhund Club. The club is where he met Margarete Iaquinto. Margarete helped create Chris Banke’s love for more breed specific training, the training of the German Shepherd Dog. She also was the breeder that bred his first German Shepherd Dog named, “Chief.” Chief was titled in Schutzhund.

After developing his skills, Chris Banke was soon doing extremely well in helper work and by 18 years of age, he was a helper in several Schutzhund trials. During this time helping, he was introduced to a trainer named Smitty who was one of the top ten trainers in the United States.

Chris Banke founded his own dog training business titled, “Chris Banke Protection Dog Trainer” at the age of 19 after having some success in the training world and having the opportunity to train under some of the most reputable dog trainers in the United States. He went on to train multiple dogs to IPO/Schutzhund III and continued coaching and doing helper work for other competitive handlers. Chris eventually started his own breeding kennel named “vom maechtigen Turm.” Many of the dogs he bred would go on to compete in Schutzhund IPO on regional and national levels or to work in law enforcement.
